Arinc Direct has integrated a risk-factors assessment capability into its standard flight planning suite for business aviation. Under an ICAO-led aviation industry regulation taking effect in November, business aircraft operators flying internationally must implement a safety management system (SMS) including a risk factors assessment for each flight. Arinc says its solution allows operators to preselect risk factors for their specific aircraft from a library. When a flight plan is prepared, these risk factors are automatically populated and then processed against available data such as weather, airport conditions, and winds.
