If there were prizes for the brightest aircraft on the ramp then one Beech 1900D would be a sure winner.

At the static park at De Kalb Peachtree Airport the vivid design of the 1900D Missionator stands out.

But it is inside as well as out that the aircraft is worth looking at. It incorporates some modest yet useful technology features designed to enhance its market acceptance and usefulness.

The aircraft has been on a world tour and visited a number of shows to show the multiple capabilities of the type to business operators.

Its exterior markings are a vinyl product, "Controltac Plus" graphic film manufactured by 3M. This material was chosen for its durability under all conditions and for ease of application. Any operators who have finite length contracts, special promotions and/or whose missions may change over time would find this product to be of interest in lieu of using paint for trim and other markings.

An added exterior feature is ceramic coated exhaust stacks, which enhance overall aircraft appearance and provide a more durable, easy to clean configuration.

The flight deck features dual AirGator NAVPad electronic flight bags. These are Class 2 yoke mounted units that can be easily removed for storage or flight planning. With appropriate inputs they can also depict "moving map" aircraft position and XM satellite weather.

Three RosenViewVX in-flight information displays are installed in the aircraft; one in the air ambulance/medevac section and two in the corporate shuttle cabin. The aft cargo bay includes Lonplate flooring molded in a mesh pattern and designed for durability and ease of maintenance in this area of potentially high wear.

A LifePort AeroSled TS Plus patient handling system and PLUS patient loading utility system are incorporated into the forward cabin, along with a side-facing attendants' seat.
