Embraer delivered a Legacy 450 cabin mock-up to the NBAA exhibit floor this year, preceding by two years delivery to the first customer.
The first example of the seven-seater entered production in August, even as the eight-seat super mid-size Legacy 500 prepares to enter flight test. Embraer launched the Legacy 450 to follow one year behind the milestones of the larger Legacy 500.

Aside a 4.41ft shorter cabin length, Embraer designed the Legacy 450's maximum range to be 700nm shorter than the trans-continental Legacy 500. The Legacy 450 can fly 2,300nm, reaching Caracas, Venezuela from Sao Paulo, Brazil. The Legacy 500, by contrast, can reach Miami from Sao Paulo.

The NBAA convention's location was significant in Embraer's decision to display the Legacy 450 mock-up. The company's executive jets division is based in Melbourne, Florida.
"The fact that this year's NBAA is in our home state allows us not only show off our aircraft," says Ernest Edwards, Embraer executive jets president, "but our customer center and headquarters in nearby Melbourne."
