Iacobucci has revealed a new product as it seeks to expand from a maker of galley equipment into VIP seating.

The contemporary, 23in seat on display is the latest result of Iacobucci's collaboration with BMW Designworks. Two years ago, the Italy-based maker of coffee machines and trolleys for aircraft cabins teamed up with BMW's designers to chase the seating market.

The collaboration has produced a range of seats spanning 19-23 inches wide.

Iacobucci entered the seat market after perceiving a demand for new designs in the VIP class with a contemporary style, said Riccardo Palmeri Lolli, group marketing director.

The company is initially focusing its new strategy on the bespoke market for VIP jet interiors.

Iacobucci says it has just received alternative procedure to design organization approval from EASA, allowing the compnay to obtain and manage technical standard orders for seats and trolleys.
