Austrian Airlines will terminate its Vienna-Tokyo route in September.
The Lufthansa Group carrier says the daily service to the Japanese capital's Narita airport has become unprofitable as a result of "tough price competition" amid economic slowdown in that country and a decline in the value of the yen.
Austrian will operate its last service to Tokyo on 3 September.
On 5 September, the Star Alliance member will launch a route to Hong Kong, with five flights a week.
