Frontier Airlines has announced dozens of seasonal routes that will begin operations beginning in April.
The Denver-based airline will add Birmingham (Alabama), Myrtle Beach and Savannah to its route map as part of the addition of 35 routes. It will also resume service to Branson (Missouri), which it previously operated seasonal flights to. Among the 35 new routes, only two routes will be operated year-round: from Birmingham to Denver and to Orlando.
With the upcoming new service, the airline will become the largest carrier at Long Island where it has announced seasonal service to leisure destinations Myrtle Beach and San Juan. Frontier will fly to 12 destinations from the airport in New York state, it says.
The growth by Frontier will not come without cuts on other routes, which is not unusual for an airline that has mostly operated seasonally on most of its new flights. At Long Island, it will end service to Fort Myers, Miami and New Orleans, says the airline.
It will also withdraw flights between Colorado Springs and Los Angeles, Cancun and Orlando, Cincinnati and Miami, Houston Intercontinental and Las Vegas, Milwaukee and Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Orlando, and Milwaukee and Tampa.
