Qantas will adjust its services to Asia, as well as the United States, starting in October.
Flights to Manila, Osaka Kansai, and San Francisco will all see frequency increases, while those to Beijing and Dallas/Fort Worth will see reductions.
From 4 December, the carrier's daily Sydney-Los Angeles route will be made into an all-Airbus A380 service, by removing the Boeing 747-400s from this route. It will also deploy A380s on the additional twice-weekly seasonal flights, which takes place between December and January.
Between 7 December 2018 and April 2019, Qantas will also upgauge its five-times weekly Sydney-Honolulu service from an A330 to the 747-400s.
"The adjustments to our international network are part of our strategy of making the best use of our fleet and matching demand by having the right aircraft, on the right route, at the right time," says Qantas.
