Swedish components and services specialist Volvo Aero signed agreements yesterday at Asian Aerospace with British Airways and Air Pacific airlines.

The BA deal involves the asset management of its $75-million surplus inventory stock, while the contract with Fiji-based Air Pacific is a full-service agreement - in partnership with Boeing - with Volvo Aero acting as the overall project facilitator. In a separate announcement, Volvo Aero says that it is restarting the overhaul of P&W's PW4000 engine for both FedEx and Aeroflot. The deals involve around 50 engines.

The Swedish company already overhauls around 120 P&W JT8D engines for Scandinavian SAS airline, while also looking after 50 JT9D engines for Continental and FedEx.
