New Piper Aircraft has delivered the first single-turboprop Malibu Meridian to a private customer, around six weeks after the Vero Beach, Florida-based company clinched US Federal Aviation Administration certification for the type. The company has secured 135 orders for the Meridian, which is based on its Mirage high performance piston single, and plans to deliver 35 aircraft by year-end. Annual production will be increased to 100 aircraft next year.
