TNT has introduced the third Tupolev Tu-204 freighter on to its European network - the first to be painted in the express packages carrier's colours.

The aircraft is one of two Rolls-Royce RB211-535E4-powered Tu-204-120Cs leased from Sirocco Aerospace and operated for TNT by Heavylift Cargo Airlines in conjunction with Cairo Aviation.

The 27t payload aircraft, recently delivered new from the Aviastar production plant in Ulyanovsk, Russia, is deployed on services from TNT's hub, in Liege, Belgium, to Malm", Orebro and Stockholm in Sweden, and Oslo in Norway. It also flies between Rome and Basle-Mulhouse. The Russian twinjets replace TNT's Boeing 727s.

Meanwhile, the Aviadvigatel PS90-powered Tu-204-100C flown for TNT by AirRep is to be joined by a second aircraft this month, which will be displayed at the Farnborough air show.
