Short and wide - British Midland has ordered 10 50-seat Embraer RJ-145 regional jets and is seeking six long-haul aircraft for its proposed US routes. A choice is expected to be made soon between the Airbus A330-200 and the Boeing 767-300. City Bird cargo - City Bird of Belgium has become a new Airbus customer with an order for two A300-600Fs, for cargo flights to the Far East, Africa and South America. Icelandair conversion - Icelandair has converted two Boeing 757 options into firm orders. The Rolls-Royce RB211-534E4-powered aircraft will join the fleet in 2000 and 2003. Ukraine Boeings - Ukraine International Airlines has ordered two more Boeing 737-300s to add to its four leased 737-200s and one 737-300. New generation - Britannia Airways contracted with Boeing and ILFC for five 737-800s for use on its Scandinavian charter operation. Another order has come from French charter company Euralair, which has leased two aircraft from GATXB737-800 Partners. Saabs for Lithuania - National carrier has added two Saab 2000 turboprops for its European network. Finnish swap - Finnair is acquiring three ATR72-200 turboprops and is selling two Saab 340s. Jersey's Canadian - UK independent Jersey European Airways is to operate the Canadair Regional Jet on Air France franchise routes.
