Laudamotion contributed 500,000 passengers to Ryanair’s August performance figures, after the newly-acquired Austrian operator was included for the first time.
Ryanair states that its passenger numbers during the month reached 13.8 million, an increase of 8.6%.
This figure included the contribution from Laudamotion, in which Ryanair has a 75% shareholding. The Austrian airline’s load factor for the month reached 92%.
Ryanair’s passenger numbers, excluding Laudamotion, were up by 4.7% to 13.3 million, with a load factor of 97%.
Over the course of August, says Ryanair, it suffered nearly 550 flight cancellations compared with only 27 in the same month last year. The airline blames air traffic control issues and a pilot strike.
