Ryanair chief operating officer Peter Bellew has confirmed that he is standing down at the end of the year.
Bellew was recruited by Ryanair in December 2017, leaving his position as chief executive of Malaysia Airlines.
At the time, Ryanair was in the midst of a rostering issue which caused a mass wave of cancellations, and the carrier said Bellew would be tasked with ensuring such a situation would never be repeated.
Since then, Ryanair has agreed to recognise unions and has set up agreements with pilots and cabin crew on most of its major markets. Chief executive Michael O'Leary said in May that he was confident there would be no labour disruption this summer, and that the carrier had sorted its pilot requirements for both this and next summer.
Bellew today says operations are "in great shape, with a super team in place".
Reuters earlier reported his planned departure, citing a memo to staff sent by chief executive Michael O'Leary.
