Dirgantara Indonesia, formerly known as IPTN, has won an order to supply 20 Airtech CN-235 transports to the Nigerian Government.

Dirgantara Indonesia vice-president of operations Suroto Dikoen says further negotiations are scheduled to take place with the visit of an Indonesian delegation including the aircraft manufacturer to Nigeria this month. The aircraft will be bartered for an unspecified amount of crude oil.

Indonesian industry and trade minister Luhut Binsar Panjaitan has said the barter agreement should be signed by the end of May. Suroto says that the start of deliveries is still subject to negotiation.

Dirgantara Indonesia is a partner with Spain's EADS Casa in the Airtech joint venture. The Indonesian company has accepted barter trade for aircraft before, including one deal carried out in exchange for glutinous rice from Thailand in the early 1990s.
