Asian Aerospace exhibitor Messier-Bugatti (Stand A411), which is owned by Snecma, is now the world's leading supplier of carbon brakes, with around 30% of its possible global market.

Airbus has certified Messier-Bugatti carbon brakes for each of its aircraft types and Dassault also specifies them for the Mirage 2000 and Rafale fighters.

In mid-1997, Boeing selected the company as a new supply source of wheels and brakes on the B767-300 - Messier Bugatti's first selection by the Seattle company.

Last December, French government-owned Snecma announced that it had reached agreement with Britain's TI Group to acquire the UK company's 50% share of Messier-Dowty for $330 million, thus bringing together, under the one banner, the landing gear, wheels and brakes companies, along with the servicing and refurbishment arms of the two companies.

The deal is expected to be completed by the end of March.
