French business aircraft charter operator Occitania has filed for bankruptcy and expects to be placed into administration this week. The Paris Le Bourget-based operator, which was formed from the flight department of oil giant Elf-Fina in 1997, expects to have administrators appointed after a court appearance scheduled for 18 March. The company says the downturn after the September 2001 US terrorist attacks coincided with its fleet expansion and acquisition of rival Octavia.
