Thomson-CSF is to supply a further three of its Ocean Master maritime-surveillance radars to the Japanese Maritime Self-Defence Force. The radars will equip its Shinmaywa USA1 search-and-rescue amphibian aircraft, the latest orders coinciding with the delivery of the first system of the initial batch, ordered 13 months ago. Thomson-CSF says that the order "-improves greatly" the commercial prospects for the radar in Japan.
