Gearing itself for route network expansion as it fills the void left by Rio-Sul, Brazilian regional start-up carrier OceanAir is expecting to receive a further two Embraer EMB-120 Brasilas from Nordeste over the coming weeks. These will bolster its present fleet of three EMB-120s.

The Rio de Janeiro-based airline is scheduled to take delivery later this month of its first Fokker 50 from Nordeste, which should also provide a second airframe later this year.

OceanAir operates a daily inter-airport shuttle service between Congonhas and Guarulhos, S‹o Paulo's two main airports. Lasting 20min and costing $20, the service is quicker and cheaper than a taxi connection.
