A fatal crash in Switzerland last week has taken to three in a month the number of accidents involving Eurocopter AS365 Dauphin helicopters.
On 11 February a US Coast Guard version, an HH-65, came down just off the beach in Humboldt County, California during a search and rescue mission (Flight International, 21-27 February). On 2 March an IAT Eurocopter AS365N (PK-TSX) carried out a forced ditching near Bakapai, East Kalimantan,
Indonesia, but none of the eight people on board was injured. On 5 March a Swiss Heli-Link AS365N3 (HB-XQS) crashed en route from Samedan to Davos, injuring the captain and killing the co-pilot, says Swiss investigator BFU. There is at present no technical evidence linking the events.
