CDB Aviation Lease Finance has confirmed an order for 90 Airbus A320neo aircraft at the 2017 Dubai air show, half of which relate to a previously undisclosed commitment and the remainder from a tentative deal disclosed at this year's Paris air show.
The lessor’s order book now comprises a total of 32 A321neos and 58 A320neos, the lessor says.
Airbus says the deal was reached in two parts. An original purchase agreement was signed in 2014 for 45 A320neo family aircraft, which had remained undisclosed.
This was followed by the firming up of the memorandum of understanding for an additional 30 A320neo and 15 A321neo aircraft announced at Le Bourget. The lessor subsequently in September said it has executed a purchase agreement for these aircraft.
“By confirming today’s order for 90 A320neos, we have doubled our overall order position for the aircraft family," says the lessor’s chief Peter Chang. "CDB Aviation is now well positioned with a leading order book for the latest technology narrowbody aircraft to realise our aggressive fleet growth plan and further strengthen our ability to serve airline customers around the world with narrowbody fleet requirements."
