Embraer has disclosed a firm order from CIAF Leasing for a trio of E190s.
The jets, to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2020, will join three E170s in the Egyptian lessor’s portfolio. Two of the E170s are on lease to Tunisian carrier Jasmin Airways and the other to CIAF’s compatriot Air Cairo.
CIAF is also set to receive two E195s in mid-November, says Embraer.

Cirium fleets data shows that the lessor manages three Boeing 737s, variously in service with China Eastern, TUIfly and Egypt’s AMC Airlines.
AMC also operates a CIAF-managed Airbus A320.
Hassan Mohamed, the lessor’s chief executive, expects that its combination of E-Jets will give it “the flexibility to offer to both our wet- and dry-lease customers a service that fits their needs exactly”.
Embraer’s vice-president of sales for Africa and the Middle East, Raul Villaron, notes that CIAF gained its own air operator’s certificate in June and states: “It’s a pleasure to work with an organisation that’s going from strength to strength by exploiting the benefits a family of aircraft can provide.”
The E190s will be adorned with a livery which shows off the lessor’s new visual identity, says Embraer.
