Flydubai will be selling more 737-800s to SMBC Aviation Capital under sale and leaseback agreements, according to a source at the Dubai-based budget carrier.
The operating lessor acquired a new Boeing 737-800 aircraft under a purchase and leaseback agreement with the Dubai-based budget carrier at the end of last month, but the mandate includes another two deliveries.
The aircraft (MSN 40281) is powered by CFM International CFM-7B27E engines. The other two aircraft are planned for delivery in 2014 and 2015, according to Flydubai.
The transaction marks the first time SMBC Aviation Capital has closed financing with the Flydubai.
Flydubai's other operating lessors include Avolon Aerospace, AWAS, BBAM, CDB Leasing, GECAS, Macquarie Airfinance, MC Aviation Partners and Pembroke Group.
