Air Lease Corporation has placed its first Boeing 787-9 with Hainan Airlines.

The Haikou-based carrier will deploy the aircraft on its new route between Beijing and Las Vegas in September.
“The 787-9’s super efficiency, capability and in-flight experience will accelerate our market position internationally,” says Hainan Airlines vice chairman Mou Weigang.
Hainan Airlines, which has 10 -8s in service, tells Flightglobal it has an order for 30 -9s with Boeing, and that it also plans to take more of the larger aircraft from lessors.
