Qatar Airways plans to exhibit four aircraft at next month's Dubai air show, but the signs are it will not be making any major order announcements.
The airline's group chief executive Akbar Al Baker tells Flightglobal that there will be three Qatar Airways airliners at Dubai: an Airbus A350-900, an A380 and its 25th Boeing 787-8. It will also debut its Gulfstream 650ER business jet, the first of 30 Gulfstreams joining the fleet of private-jet division Qatar Executive.
Al Baker says he expects Dubai to be a relatively quiet show by recent standards and is not currently envisioning that Qatar Airways will sign any significant new deals during the event.
The airline has traditionally had a major presence at the big air shows. At this year's Paris event it exhibited five aircraft, comprising an A350, an A380, a 787 and two Airbus A320-family aircraft: an A320 and an all-business-class A319.
