Flightglobal spoke to Qatar Airways chief Akbar Al Baker and Airbus A350 programme boss Didier Evrard during the type’s delivery ceremony in Toulouse on 22 December.
Al Baker, who accepted delivery of his airline’s first of 80 A350s, said the aircraft will be operated on noise trials at London Heathrow before it makes its service debut between Doha and Frankfurt on 15 January.
Meanwhile Evrard outlined how Airbus is to boost production of the A350 from three a month early in 2015 to 10 a month within four years.
