Orlando International Airport has become Florida's busiest airport, overtaking Miami for the first time last year, said the mayor of Florida's Orange County, Richard Crotty, at Network. "We have the growth you are seeking," he told airlines. Orlando handled 31.1 million passengers in 2004, a rise of 14%, leapfrogging Miami, which nevertheless saw its numbers rise 2% to 30.1 million. The booming Orlando region welcomed 48 million visitors last year, said Crotty.
