Daher-Socata has decided against launching its twin-engined jet this year.
The French manufacturer has been working on its first jet for some time and last year indicated it could launch a 10-seat twin-engined jet in 2010. But vice-president of sales in the Americas Michel de Villiers says a decision on launching the jet will not happen in 2010. He says a 2011 launch is possible but not yet decided.
Daher-Socata says launching the jet is a "strong decision" and it cannot rush the process. "We adapt to the market and the last few years have been difficult," the company says.
Next July could be the ideal time for a as the manufacturer will be celebrating its 100th anniversary at AirVenture 2011 in Oshkosh. At this year's event late last month Daher-Socata said it is planning a centennial celebration for AirVenture 2011 and unveiled a clock counting down the days until the celebration. Daher-Socata says the clock will be displayed at a series of shows over the next year including October's NBAA business aviation exhibition in Atlanta.
