Panasonic Avionics has contracted MCA Solutions to help improve the uptime and availability of its in-flight entertainment and communications (IFEC) systems and boost service levels across its vast network of spare parts depots.
Under the agreement, Panasonic will use Philadelphia-headquartered MCA Solutions' so-called 'service planning and optimization' (SPO) technology "to effectively plan and place spare parts throughout our worldwide maintenance support network", says Panasonic vice-president of operations Matthew Smith.
MCA Solutions has spent nearly a decade working with aerospace industry manufacturers, including Boeing and Lockheed Martin.
"Global supply chains in the aerospace industry are incredibly complicated and are driving businesses like Panasonic Avionics Corporation to seek technology to help it scale its business while boosting customer satisfaction," says MCA Solutions president and CEO Bob Salvucci.
Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
