Pratt & Whitney (P&W) has decided to close its Norway Engine Center in Stavanger.

The 15,000m² (160,000ft²) shop has specialised in CFM International CFM56-3, -5B and -7B overhaul, and has capacity to service more than 100 engines a year.

It employs more than 200 employees, according to P&W's website.

Flightglobal Pro has learned from the facility that it will be wound up. However, the company did not reveal any further details regarding the closure.

P&W acquired the overhaul shop, which includes a test cell for engines with up to 40,000lb of thrust, from Braathens in 2000.
