Bombardier has secured a top-tier carrier as the launch operator for its Pratt & Whitney PurePower PW1500G-powered CSeries twinjet.
The order, announced today during the Paris air show, for 10 CS100s plus six options is Bombardier's third CSeries order this month, and represents its sixth customer for the 110/130-seat narrowbody.
The new customer "has requested to remain unidentified at the present time", said Bombardier, which said that the operator is a "major network carrier".
Based on the list price for the CS100, the firm order is valued at $616 million.
Bombardier Commercial Aircraft president Gary Scott said the order "is testament to the growing appeal and momentum for CSeries aircraft". The transaction increases firm orders for the CSeries family of aircraft to 113 - 51 CS100 and 62 CS300 aircraft.
The CS100 is expected to enter into service in 2013. However, Bombardier does not mention a delivery date for its launch operator in its press statement about the deal.
