VistaJet has increased its backlog of Bombardier business jets after signing for up to 40 Challenger 350s, which could be worth as much as $1.04 billion at list prices.

The deal comprises 20 firm orders with a further 20 options. Deliveries will start in mid-2014, says VistaJet.

Thomas Flohr, founder and chairman of VistaJet, says: "VistaJet leads the industry in offering the world's most modern fleet of large cabin jets. We now expand this strategy by adding the newest super-midsize aircraft to our current fleet of Global and Challenger aircraft."

Flohr was part of the focus groups that led to the launch of the Challenger 350 at the EBACE show in May, he says.

VistaJet already has 56 firm orders for Bombardier Global business jets and options for an additional 86 aircraft valued at more than $7.8 billion dating from November 2012.
