* US manufacturer Honeywell has appointed Robert Gillette president and chief executive of its aerospace division. He replaces Robert Johnson, who will be retained as non-executive chairman until he retires in 2006. Adriane Brown, former vice- president and general manager of the company's aerospace engine systems and accessories, takes over from Gillette as president and chief executive of Honeywell's transport system unit.

 * Israeli airline El Al is awaiting the appointment of a new president following the resignation of Amos Shapira on 9 January. Industry sources say Shapira resigned to avoid potential conflict with the new board chairman Israel Borovitch, who intends to be closely involved in the airline's management.

* As part of efforts to develop Saab's international relations, the company has chosen Gripen International managing director Ian McNamee to join Saab's group management team. Johan Lehander, acting head of Saab Aerosystems, will replace him as managing director of Gripen International during the first quarter of 2005. Saab is also increasing its presence in Brussels: Irene Svensson will establish an office.

* EADS North America has appointed US Air Force Maj Gen Silas Johnson as director of marketing for advanced tanker programmes.
