Italy’s Piaggio Aero is believed to be on the verge of breaking into the crucial Middle Eastern market with its twin-pusher executive turboprop P180 Avanti II.  Four aircraft, together worth around $25 million, are believed to be bound for one of the Gulf states, where they are likely to be used for corporate charter operations.

Piaggio has been trying to break into the Middle East market to bolster its successful presence in Europe and the USA, where more than 125 Avanti IIs are already in service.  This new order will add to the 85-strong backlog at Piaggio’s Genoa factory.
