All 66 occupants on board an Icaro Air Fokker F28 escaped injury after the aircraft overran the runway on take-off at Quito, Ecuador on 22 September. The accident during departure for a domestic flight to Coca. The 23-year-old Mk4000 (HC-CDT) careered down a slope and came to rest near residential buildings, destroying the instrument landing system. Quito airport's ILS was destroyed less than a year ago when an Iberia Airbus A340-600 overran while landing.
