Flightglobal.com showcases this picture of an Azerbaijan Airlines' ATR 42-500, the first in a batch of ATR turboprops ordered by the carrier in January.
The Baku-based airline signed for six ATRs – a pair of ATR 42-500s and four ATR 72-500s. The airline took delivery of this first one on 24 August.

Azerbaijan Airlines operates a mixed fleet comprising several ageing Soviet-era types as well as Airbus and Boeing narrowbodies but it is undergoing a fleet modernisation
Also known as AZAL, the airline lost a new Antonov An-140, one of a batch being delivered to the carrier, in a December 2005 accident which prompted the carrier to look at the ATR as an alternative.
