Nineteen years after Boeing first assembled WA001 - its first 777-200 - the airframer's 1,000th example moves through final assembly at its Everett, Washington plant.
This 777-300ER, dubbed WE193, now the family's best-seller, will be the 102nd 777 for Emirates when it is delivered in March. The 777 will join the 707, 727, 737, 747, 757, 767 and legacy MD-80 as the eighth Boeing jetliner to reach 1,000 deliveries, and could potentially be the first widebody to reach 2,000. Customers had ordered 1,361 777s by the end of January.
