The delivery milestone, which followed a transit flight from Orange airbase in southern France, was attended by Brazilian president Luiz Inácio da Silva.
The surplus aircraft have been purchased as an interim measure, with Brazil later planning to revive its long-delayed F-X future fighter acquisition. Another two secondhand Mirages will be delivered next month, with the programme's remaining fighters to be transferred in two batches of four aircraft each in 2007 and 2008.
