A Eurocopter EC120 light single-engined helicopter operated by the Baltimore police department has become the first of its type to reach 10,000 flight hours.
The air support unit operates four Turbomeca Arrius 2F-powered EC120s, which have flown more than 30,000h since they entered service in 2000. "We typically fly around 350h a month in support of our officers on the ground and other agencies such as fire and emergency medical services," says the Baltimore police.
