TAM's first Airbus A350-900 has operated its maiden flight from Toulouse, ahead of its delivery to the airline later this month.
The aircraft will undergo the final production phase, which involves further ground checks and flight tests, says Airbus.
TAM will be the first Americas operator of the A350, holding orders for 27 of the type. Six of these were converted earlier this year to the larger A350-1000.
The Brazilian carrier will begin operating the aircraft between Sao Paulo and Manaus in January, followed by international flights from Sao Paulo to Miami, Madrid and Orlando.
