The US Coast Guard has passed the 1 million flight hour milestone for its Eurocopter HH-65 Dolphin twin-engine helicopter fleet.
The service operates 96 HH-65Cs, an upgraded version of the original helicopter, 10% of the worldwide fleet.
The coastguard, operating the helicopters from 17 stations in the continental USA, Hawaii and Puerto Rico, has been using the model since it was first delivered in 1985.
The one millionth flight hour was achieved on 20 September on a maritime medical mission from Hawaii.
