Karl Krapek, president of US engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney, has taken over management of P&W's large commercial-engine business. The current president, Robert Wolfe, is to leave the company. Krapek has named eight top executives, with four new appointments: Robert Leduc, senior vice-president for commercial-engine programmes and service; John Wohler, senior vice-president for marketing and sales programmes; Ed Crow, senior vice-president for engineering; and James Taiclet, vice-president of Eagle Services, P&W's aftermarket operation. Four will retain their existing positions: Louis Chenevert, executive vice-president for operations; Hansel Tookes, president of the large military-engines business; Douglas North, president of the space-propulsion division; and Robert Rosati, vice-president for Russian programmes. Chenevert also acquires responsibility for engine overhaul and component-repair centres.
