ARMThe European Space Agency’s European Robotic Arm (ERA) is to be launched to the International Space Station on a Russian Proton, instead of the Space Shuttle.

Built by a consortium led by Dutch Space, the 11m (36ft)-long seven-jointed arm was planned to be flown with the Russian Science and Power Platform. Now the ERA, which will be used for assembly and servicing of the Russian segment of the ISS, will be launched with, and operated from, the Russian Multipurpose Laboratory Module. The arm will be launched in November 2007.
