PSA Airlines, a regional operator for American Airlines, will open a new full-service maintenance site at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International airport later this year, the airline announces.
The carrier, which currently hires a maintenance contractor to perform work in Cincinnati, says the new site will be able to accommodate up to five Bombardier CRJ900s at once.
"Having our own maintenance base at CVG will significantly enhance our ability to more-efficiently support the maintenance requirements for our rapidly growing fleet of large RJ aircraft," says PSA in a media release.
PSA, based near Dayton, Ohio, operates a fleet of 35 CRJ200s, 19 CRJ700s and 30 CRJ900s, the company says on its website.
The airline also has orders for an additional 24 CRJ900s and options for a further 16 of the type, according to Flightglobal's Ascend Fleets database.
