Israeli missile house Rafael unveiled its latest member of the long-running Python short-range air-to-air missile family, the Python 5.
The company says the airframe and rocket motor remain untouched.
"We haven't found a need to change it because, aerodynamically and kinematically, what that airframe can do is better than anything else we've found," said Tsafrir Ben-Ari, marketing manager for Rafael's air-to-air and air defence directorate.
All the changes come towards the front of the missile - the seeker is a new, dual-waveband imaging infra-red focal plane array manufactured in house.
