Qantas and Air France have re-established a codeshare agreement that will offer connections between Australia and Paris Charles de Gaulle over Singapore and Hong Kong.
From 20 July, Qantas will place its code on Air France-operated flights from Paris to Singapore and Hong Kong. In return, Air France will codeshare on Qantas flights from Hong Kong to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, and from Singapore to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.
In addition, Air France will place its code on some Qantas services from Sydney to Cairns, Hobart, Canberra, Adelaide and Darwin.
The two carriers previously had a similar agreement in place, but it was terminated by Qantas in April 2013 as a result of it entering a joint venture on Europe routes with Emirates.
"The return of this popular codeshare delivers on our strategy of partnering to provide customers with access to an expanded network and more seamless travel experiences wherever they want to fly," says Qantas International chief executive Alison Webster.
FlightGlobal schedules show that, at present, Qantas codeshares on Emirates’ services between Dubai and Paris.
