Qantas Airways' CFO Colin Storrie is stepping down and resigning from its board for personal and health reasons from 5 March.
The carrier, which will look for his successor among internal and external candidates, has appointed Qantas Airlines CFO Gareth Evans as acting group executive finance for the Qantas group in the meantime.
Storrie, who was appointed CFO in September 2008, is stepping down to spend time with his family and for health reasons.
"I have reluctantly made this decision, however, I believe Qantas is in good hands," says Storrie.
Qantas CEO Alan Joyce says: "Thanks to Colin, Qantas has come through the global financial crisis with a very strong cash balance, an investment grade credit rating and has been able to make real progress on unit costs while undertaking major capacity reductions."
