Australian national carrier Qantas Airways has invested NZ$47 million ( $33 million) to exercise its full 19.4% entitlement in rival Air New Zealand's three-for-11 NZ$242 million rights issue. Although Qantas will not discuss the offer, it entitled the company to a further 23.5 million "B" shares in the NZ carrier.
