Raytheon Systems (RSL) has named its team of partners for the UK Paveway 4 programme.
Raytheon Systems and Raytheon Missile Systems will provide the guidance and control system, and will undertake system integration. RSL in Glenrothes will manufacture the system, while RSL Harlow will be responsible for programme management, and RSL Bedford will provide in-service support.
The Multi Event Hard Target Fuze will be provided by Thales Missile Electronics, which developed it in association with Alliant Techsystems of Minnesota.
Lockheed Martin's Missiles and Fire Control division in Orlando, Florida, is the design authority for the new 500lb (230kg) warhead, and will also provide performance modelling and integration, testing and certification support. The warhead will be manufactured by Societa Esplosivi Industriali, which will also be responsible for testing in Sardinia, while QinetiQ will undertake environmental, safety and performance testing.
Portsmouth Aviation will manufacture the Paveway 4 and the weapon's transport containers, while Brighton's MBM will design the mechanical and electrical interface.
