Raytheon has completed the fourth guided test firing of an AIM-9X Sidewinder short-range air-to-air missile. It used the US Air Force/Navy Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System (JHMCS) for the first time.

The launch took place during a "dogfight scenario" and in the presence of infrared countermeasures flares. The JHMCS helmet-mounted sight was used to point the seeker which acquired the target at high off-boresight angles.
