Lack of demand has prompted Reims Aviation to abandon plans to resume production of Cessna singles for the French market.

The company says that it will continue its successful Cessna sales and distribution business, as well as manufacture of the 14-seat Cessna 406 Caravan II, but adds: "We do not see a market big enough to support restarting [singles] production." Reims Aviation does not rule out re-opening the line if significant demand materialises.

Four Cessna 172s have been delivered to customers in France this year. Reims says that it will bring a further 15-20 aircraft over from the USA to meet predicted demand this year.
